This week we will be working through lessons that are a part of the  Set Apart to Serve program from the LCMS.  We will be learning about the different roles of a church worker and how we can support these people in their jobs.

We enjoyed our visit from missionary Tirzah on Wednesday and will be keeping her in our prayers in the coming days.   Your child brought home some information about her work in Latin America in their folders.  

Chapel will be on Monday with our offerings going to Lutheran World Relief.

Hopefully you will think about enrolling your child in the summer reading program at the Jackson County Library.   That info came home on Thursday.   There are a lot of incentives being offered.   Students can read themselves OR be read to... 

This week we have a lot of lasts, our last reader, our last story in our First Reader etc.   No new high frequency words.   We will be reviewing with games and activities.  I am pleased with the reading progress from all of our students and know this is just the beginning of developing a life long skill.

We will have our last homework for the year on Tuesday.   Do not look for homework until first grade!! 

We will be looking ahead at some of the areas we will be learning about in first grade and doing some review in areas that need to be revisited from this year.  

Mrs. Spieker and I have planned some special activities for this week to learn about the Summer Olympics.   Hopefully this will spark some interest when the Olympics take place and also help us to learn a bit about other countries.
