Religion

Our study of Easter continues this week as we learn about Jesus appearance to the disciples.  We will learn about Jesus coming to us and assuring us of His forgiving love and guiding us to live as His disciples.

Language Arts

We have made a lot of progress in our reading skills and I am proud of how our students will "attack" a word that they do not know rather than just stopping in their reading.  We have been working one on one with fluency passages to help us with our skills.   Students have a set of 18 passages that we have worked on this spring.   I will be sending them home at year's end so that you can review or finish them this summer for summer reading practice.

Our new red words are could and would.  We will be reading Pine Lake and Big Bike which continue to help us work on reading words with silent e's and blends.

Math

We will be finishing up our last "official" Kindergarten unit this week.  Our final math lessons center on what is termed "Step up to First Grade".  These lessons will all be completed in class and do not have papers that will be coming home.  So that you are aware... math lessons will continue even if you do not see papers in take home folders.

Science/Social Studies

We have watched five chrysalis hatch this week.   It happens so quickly and I am amazed at how a good sized butterfly can be packed into a tiny chrysalis!   God's miracle for sure.

Some of our normal science and social studies time will be spent on Closing Program practice but learning will continue!

Memory

We will be working a lot of closing program memory in the coming weeks so no new memory work for the remainder of the year. Thank you for your work at home to learn

The Lord's Prayer

The 10 Commandments

The Apostles Creed

Luther's Morning Prayer

Luther's Morning Prayer,

I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger,

And I pray that you would keep me this day also from sin and every evil.

That all my doings and life may please you.

For into your hands I commend myself, my body and soul and all things.

Let your holy angels be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me.  Amen
