Religion

Chapel is on Monday of this week.

Our Bible account will be the return of the Children of Israel to their homeland and the rebuilding of the temple.

On Thursday we will have a treat as we will visit our own church building here at Immauel and receive a tour from Pastor Blomenburg.   We will learn some interesting things about our house of worship and if your family worships elsewhere your child will be able to look for these features at your home church too.

Language Arts

We are off to a good start with our diagraphs and with reading books without picture prompts!

This week we will work on the word 'at' and read A Hat.   We will also tackle another vowel sound in the letter u.  This letter is not at 'popular' as our other vowels so we will give it a lot of attention this week.

We will read an interesting story on perspective in "The Golden Windows" and we will continue to learn about homes.

Math

We finished up addition.   Some of our students did struggle with a certain portion of this learning.  I have been going over our papers with each student to address areas that needed some explanation.   We will be coming back to addition but for now we will be learning about numbers 10 to 20.  We will work on recognizing numbers in 10 frames, reading and writing these numbers.

Science/Social Studies

We will be learning about how Native Americans communicated with picture words.   We will decorate our Wetu's with some of these words and will also complete our booklets on the Early Settlers.

Memory

Yes, there is a 10th Commandment but we are putting them as memory work aside to begin to learn our songs for the Christmas services.   Your child may be participating in the service at Immanuel and the work listed here will be a part of that service.   If you belong to Zion or Redeemer your pieces of memory will be coming to you soon.  If you are not a member of ILS but would like to be a part of the Christmas Eve service you are certainly welcome to participate.

This year in keeping with the 150th anniversary of our school we will be reprising a service from 1959!!

Our first song to tackle is " The Snow Lay on the Ground"

Vs. 1 for this week.  The snow lay on the ground, The stars shone bright, When Christ our Lord was born on Christmas night.

The refrain is in Latin and we will tackle this in school!  You are welcome :)
