Welcome to the 8F Homepage!
8F Homeroom is comprised of 23 students and Mrs. Franke. We meet every morning to get organized for the day and listen to the daily announcements over the public address system. At the conclusion of the announcements we pray together and begin our day. At noon, our homeroom meets again to recite our Bible verse of the week, Pledge of Allegiance, and the Pledge to the Cross before heading to lunch together. At the end of the day our homeroom gathers once again to check our planners, gather our belongings, and end our day in God's Word. We take turns sharing the good news of the salvation that Jesus won for us on the cross. We listen to a Bible reading, devotion, and pray together to our Heavenly Father before dismissal.

Academic Fair: Mark your calendars now! The ILS Academic Fair will be Friday evening, November 17. All students will be producing items to see at the ILS Math Marketplace. Students will set up booths to sell their wares that evening. Students have chosen their product and will begin making decisions about marketing this week. (See Academic Fair parent letter in PageDoc to the right)! Please put the date of the fair on your calendar!
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Thank you for taking the time to meet with me to discuss your child's progress. I look forward to our continued collaboration as students continue their eighth grade year.
Book Orders will be taken for October. The deadline to order is Wednesday, October 25. If a student wishes to order, please do so by returning the flyer with cash or check to Scholastic or by ordering with a credit card online. See the Scholastic link in PageLinks to the right. Our online code is: GKN8H.
AR: Students have set second quarter AR goals and should be reading toward the goal already. Please encourage 20 minutes or more of independent reading each day.
Edmodo - All junior high students are members of various ILS Edmodo Classes. The online Edmodo site is set up for enhancing the educational process and for establishing another route of communication about the class between the teacher and students. All junior high students are expected to check Edmodo at least once per day. On a cancelled day, they must check it at least once during the day and submit any homework or responses requested by the class teacher.
October Mission: Prayer of the Day
Our October chapel offerings will go for publication costs of the Daily Prayer in the Seymour Tribune.
Please remind your child to bring in chapel offering each week for our mission projects. This act will not only help our missions, but hopefully will also affirm or establish a habit of giving back to our Lord. Offerings will be collected all week and taken to chapel each Monday.
