Overview of Content

We start out the year reviewing the nature of science, what is Scientific Inquiry as well as math skills used in science.  We then move through the solar system discussing our moon, sun, the seasons, tides and eclipses the phases of the moon.  We also go in depth about each of the 8 planets that make up our solar system as well as other smaller objects found in the solar system.  From there we have a short unit discussing energy, its different forms and transformations.  We then move into a large life science unit covering Ecosystems; their living things and interactions of biotic and abiotic parts.  We also discuss important processes in nature such as Photosynthesis, the Water Cycle and other natural cycles.  We finish the year with a unit on Chemistry reviewing the properties of matter, how matter changes, the three main states of matter and how those states change.  It's a packed year!
